silver plate

ever wonder why some people seem to have life handed to them on a silver plate? yeah me too.

i know, i know. husband and i are lucky. blessed. but really. can we have things on a silver plate once in a while?

we've been patient.

hard working.

faithful.

hopeful.

optimistic.

but just when things start looking up finally the rug always seems to get pulled out from under us.

and we're back to square one again.

worried, confused, lost, nervous, scared to death that things just might not work this time.

i won't share what the situation is, its just too personal and i don't know you, or maybe i do, i don't know. you never say anthing back.

i see couples our own age. they make LOTS of money. They have things work out for them. And the complain. They complain that their cars aren't nice enough, they don't have enough money, they are so stressed out, they don't like where they live, their job is just not good enough (hello college graduate, what did you expect? ceo? not likely). And I want to smack those people. Husband and I have a baby to take care of. I wouldn't trade him for anything but jeesh he's expensive. I've chosen not to work so I can be with him. Obviously money is a little tight cause of that... my choice yes, but it doesn't make that situation easier. We are driving a 20 year old car that could explode anyday because, well, we simply cannot afford a different one. My college graduate husband worked in a job that earned us money. Not at a place where advancing in his careers was an option, but one where you had to fight to be noticed, not by upper management, no. By your immidiate supervisors who should know who their employees are and what they are capable of. I try not to complain. I know we have it good. But just once I would like opportunites to be handed to us. On a silver plate. I would take it. And be thrilled.

  2. Hang in their guys, things will work out. It may seem like things are handed to other people you know on silver platters, but that's most likely not the case. I'm glad you said you're still grateful for what you have. I think that's the key! Everyone has their trials. That's what this life is all about, what we do with them. Love you guys!

  3. At the risk of sounding insensssssitive, I will only say:

What you are experiencing is good for you. 40 years from now you will look back and probably say, those times were not too bad after all. I feel for you, but not too much. Keep a stiff upper lip, and get out of bed early. That's all.
