The person who said "nothing tastes as good as skinny feels" was a big fat liar. They must be delusional, or anorexic or both and probably not skinny.
Seriously.
I'm sitting here eating my 5-day-late St. Patricks Day meal of corned beef and cabbage (no red potatoes, thanks for asking) and I keep wishing that it was that delicious pizza I ate earlier this week with reckless abandon. And then the Shamrock Shake I had later that evening. Or any one of the awesome diet-unapproved meals I had while taking the mini-vacation with husband.
It was divine.
And let me tell you about our little trip south to Sin City.
It was also divine.
We caught a concert (quite possibly the most amazing one I've been to yet...), toured Hoover Dam (with plenty dam jokes flying), walked and walked until we thought our legs and feet would fall off, relaxed by the pool, had fun laughing at the plentiful drunks walking the streets with us on St. Patricks Day, slept in, stayed up late and ate whatever we wanted, whenever we wanted.
And I remembered why I like being with Darrell.
Don't get me wrong, I always love that man of mine but being able to spend almost four days together with no kid, no responsibilities and no time frame was awesome. I remembered dating him and laughing with him. I always love him, but I remembered why I like him too. And it was nice.
If I could get my pictures to load to my computer I'd post them cause I look cute because I even got ready everyday of our trip. Showered, hair fixed AND makeup. I'm usually pretty good at getting 2 out of the 3 on a daily basis but on our trip I hit ALL three everyday!
So here's to the diet that we jumped right back into.
And to paying off debt.
And living beautiful lives together!

There are times when I look at my life and all I can think is how wonderful it is. I have a husband who loves me and baby boy I love more than I ever though was possible. What joy he brings to my life. Every. Single. Day. The wonder he has for everything is amazing for me to see. I think of how big he is getting and how fast he is growing up and I can't help but be incredibly sad. I will miss him as a baby. Dragging tools into the bathroom because that is where he watched us use tools. Sitting on the ground holding a book and muttering to himself while "reading". Whispering, who knows what, to himself as he wanders around leaving a trail of stuff behind him. Those little messes, everywhere, that I clean up every single day. Sometimes twice a day. His sweet little hands while he is sleeping. Warm and soft and wonderful. His chubby cheeks that bounce when he walks. His perfectly happy personality. How silly he is, teasing and laughing and sneaking around. I can't bear to think of it all leaving.
But then I think of the things that are coming. Talking, riding bikes, throwing balls (and dirt and grass and leaves, ooh my!) Discovering bugs (and me discovering them in his pockets and room, oh boy). My baby boy growing up into a big boy and then a big man, and I hope, oh I hope, that he will still love his mamma, and give me hugs and kisses. Even when he is a big boy.
What a crazy and miraculous thing this being a parent is. I'm so blessed to have this boy in my life. I wouldn't trade him for anything.

So I have this dream of running a marathon someday. I don't know why, and I think it sounds pretty awful, but I really really really want to.
I also really really really want to go to Disney World again someday.Last week I stumbled on the results of a disney half marathon. I got interested really quick, and I found this:

A Birthday Boy!!!
Can you even believe that it has been one whole year since I had little boy?
I can't.
I can't even imagine what life would be like without him.
He is the best thing that has ever happened to me, (sorry love, you're pretty great too... but you've got some competition is all...)
Happy Birthday angel baby! I love you!

suspiciously quiet...
You know how people always say that they know their kids are up to no good when they can't hear them any more? Well... I don't really have that problem yet but today I had little man on the ground crawling around in my craft room. He had been crying to try to get me to pick him up but suddenly he stopped and started making these little noises with his mout shut. It hit me: I dropped some m&m's on the ground yesterday! I look down to pick them up and they are gond. I look over to baby and he has chocolate dripping down his face. Ah. That kid. Makes me smile.
| "I see you!" |
Oh that smile! He has just recently started wrinkling his nose when he smiles and I LOVE IT!! Anyway, maybe you can see the chocolate smears running down his face. I can't even imagine my life with out this little boy. What a blessing he is.
*sorry they are so blurry, my camera isn't very good and, well, babies don't sit still...

a little christmas... and the baby too
so I've been workin on a quilt. I think it is pretty great. some of the blocks have been a little tedious... and some have made me downright angry...
today I finished them all! and I'm going to be sewing them together shortly, but of course, I had to take a picture first!

I'm so excited to put this on my couch this christmas season! I love the way its turning out! Now lets see if I can get it done before christmas comes HA. I just don't know how I'm going to quilt it yet....
Oh and when I plugged in my camera I found these little pics:
How could I not post them?!
