I'm back, and a WIP update

Woah. Its been a while. Like many months.

I think I got a little burned out on the whole blog idea. Its fine, a break was good for me.

I'm not even going to pretend to catch up. That would be ridiculous.

I'm going to jump in with a WIP (work in progress) that I'm sewing.

My mom purchased a super cute Jelly Roll from Aneela Hoey's fabric line "A Walk in the Woods." Its so whimsical and charming with its adorable little Red Riding Hood and foxes and mushrooms, just so cute! Well she was having a hard time deciding what to sew it into, which is when I went searching and found a pattern for the Lattice Bones Quilt by Julie Hirt from the Moda Bake Shop. It seemed to be the perfect fit. So I volunteered to do the quilt for her and got the quilt cut out and started putting it together. Then my parents suddenly got a different job and had to move. The quilt got packed into a bag and sent home with me and I completely forgot about it. I decided to pull it out the other evening and chain piece the whole thing together and not stop until I had the whole top put together.

Well, mission accomplished! I got the top together, finishing it exactly when I thought I would, Monday night at 12:00 AM, haha! So now the quilt travels to the pile of quilts waiting to be quilted, and there it might stay for a long time, BUT at least the top is all pieced together!

I really really love how it turned out. I think the colors are so cute and its a fun top to look at.

  1. What a great quilt top and I love the story behind it too. It's all too common around here for things to get started, popped into bags and overlooked for days, weeks or months. It's a lovely sense of achievement to get them finished, even if that finish is only one stage in a larger process.

  4. What a lovely quilt, well done! And you're right - there's nothing to catch up with. Blogging meets you where you are and will wait until you have time to devote to it. It looks like you have lots of wonderful things on :)

  5. Blogging breaks can be very therapeutic. Hope yours was! :) And your quilt is just so sweet, just a perfect match for Aneela's fabrics.
