dancing

dear dad:

do you remember when i was little and you would help me stand up on your feet and we would dance around the kitchen? it didn't matter what the song was, we would just dance?

do you remember when i started getting older and you taught me how to waltz? we weren't very good but we sure could count to four...

and then i took ballroom dancing in high school and suddenly our dancing in the kitchen became much more complex and dangerous... some of the chairs could have gotten hurt, but it was still fun and we got even better at counting to four!

then there was this one night where you danced with me. and i loved it. and i wouldn't trade that moment for anything in the world.
