My favorite part of the weather changing is that it is suddenly warm enough to lay outside in the sun. This does, however, become problematic when I remember that I have red hair, and well, EXTREMELY sensitive skin. I tend to forget this little detail when the its is a lovely 84 degrees outside and nothing sounds better, aside from writing the 10 pager due tomorrow, than laying out with my roommates and reading a good book. So I did. For an hour. And the best part is that the longer I sit inside, the brighter red my legs and arms are turning. At least I had the common sense to put sunscreen on my face. Honestly.
Oh and just in case anyone wants to know, Gatorade wrappers do not make good masks.

if all i could see was your mouth, i would swear it was your mom~ you are unquestionably creative :-)
ReplyDeleteI am pasty too, Em. One year I was burned so badly my skin actually peeled off in charred chunks. I am certain I will eventually die from skin cancer. I am still trying to come to terms that I will never be tan. I can still see your mom tanning on the deck for her upcoming high school reunion. She said, "tan fat is better than white fat!"
ReplyDeleteYes, Leah told me "tan fat is better than white fat", too. My girlfriend compared it to a pork chop. A nice juicy pink porkchop doesn't look nearly as yummy as a browned and seasoned one. I remember those days, Emmy - sitting out on the lawn with my roomies enjoying the spring weather. That conjures up lots of nice memories. It would be fun to relive one of those days! When are you out of school? Are you going home to work three jobs again?
ReplyDeleteLoreal foam mousse - instant tan tada!
